I wanted to make.
Cossatot Works began with a simple conviction: the useful things in our lives should be worth keeping.
The beginning

of work.
For most of my career, I built businesses. I learned to value clear purpose, disciplined systems, and the quiet difference between something merely finished and something finished correctly.
Eventually, I wanted to build in a more literal sense—with steel, wood, fire, and my own hands. I wanted the work to leave the shop as something solid: an object another person could use, care for, and one day pass along.
Cossatot Works is that next chapter. It is not about making more. It is about making fewer things with greater consequence.

The name comes from the Cossatot River in western Arkansas—a place of rock, moving water, and beauty that has never needed polishing.
It felt right for the kind of company this should be: independent, grounded, and shaped by resistance. The river does not hurry, but it never stops working. Over time, it leaves a mark.
What we believe

We would rather make a small number of objects correctly than fill a catalog with things that have no reason to exist.
